Ashli Duncan

Ashli joined the Charles Butt Foundation Learning & Impact team in June 2022. Ashli is a doctoral student in the Educational Policy and Planning program at the University of Texas at Austin. She graduated from Scripps College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance and Media Studies. Her education career began with volunteering to teach adults English as a Second Language, which led her to teach English abroad in Japan and South Korea. She returned home to earn her Master of Arts in Teaching Reading from the University of San Francisco. She then taught 2nd-grade for five years in San Francisco, California. Her advocacy work for students and teachers motivated her to bring her skills as a teacher and researcher to create an equitable education for all students. When not studying, she loves to dance, share great food with friends, and play the ukulele.
