Tasha McKinney

(she/her) Programs Associate

Tasha is the program associate for the Charles Butt Scholarship for Aspiring Teachers, which encourages promising, diverse students to choose the teaching profession. She supports scholarship programming, particularly through the Scholar mentorship program.

Before joining the Charles Butt Foundation, Tasha worked as an early childhood educator and behavior therapist. She also has former experience in educational programs through her role as an assistant director of programming for the H. E. Butt Foundation Outdoor School. Her work both in the classroom and in collaboration with teachers has led her to be an advocate for equitable, high-quality education.  

Tasha received a Masters in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Parks and Tourism, Youth Development from Texas A&M University in College Station.
