Shelby Davidson

Dr. Shelby Davidson is entering his 10th year as principal of Van Middle School in Van ISD. He served as a school board member and Board President for Van ISD from 1998-2011. Shelby received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin, his Masters of Public Policy and Administration from Baylor University, and his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Lamar University where he received an Outstanding Doctoral Student Award. In 2016, he received a National Rural Education Association Dissertation of the Year award. Shelby also holds a Certificate of School Management and Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education/Harvard Business School.

Shelby enjoys his role as an advisory board member for the Texas A&M A-Plus Project, and he previously served as a Principal Advocacy Fellow for Raise Your Hand Texas. Outside of education, he completed a pastoral ministry program at Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University.
