2018 Leadership Symposium recap

 1,000 Leaders. 10 Years. 1 Purpose.

Unstoppable.

The 2018 Leadership Symposium honored the more than 1,000 leaders sponsored for leadership development and coaching programs, the 10th annual symposium coordinated by the Raise Your Hand Texas Foundation, and our singular shared purpose of strengthening public education for all Texas students.

This event celebrated the unique qualities demonstrated by school leaders – resiliency, vision, humor, determination, grit, tenacity, just to name a few – and how, when harnessed and channeled effectively, these strengths can ensure their success in leading projects, teams, and schools. And how these characteristics make them, as individuals and as a network, unstoppable in reinventing public education for the future.

Held in Houston, the symposium welcomed our largest-ever group of attendees, 500 in all, who experienced sessions and workshops led by renowned speakers from renowned higher education institutions and leading education organizations, site visits to blended learning school sites, student singers and theatre performers from local public schools, and regional breakouts for networking and training.
