Our 12th annual Leadership Symposium brought together 350+ Texas public school leaders from across the state. Attendees heard from former CBS journalist and news anchor Dan Rather, economist John Friedman, Texas State Demographer Lloyd Potter, and the 10th U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King Jr. Throughout the event, conversations focused around not only what Texas looks like today, but what the future will look like for school communities across the state. Our experts explored the challenges students are facing, and what they need from school leaders to be successful. In addition, we coordinated 15 site visits across San Antonio to give conference attendees a front row look at the innovation already unfolding in our state, and Raise Your Hand Texas alumni presented 20 breakout sessions.
Our theme, 2020: Texans for All, emphasized what makes Texas public education special — we are for all.All teachers. All families. All school leaders. All communities. We are Texans for all futures.Because the future of Texas is in our public schools.
