2021 Virtual Charles Butt Scholar Symposium

Disclaimer: This initiative initially was launched and coordinated by the Raise Your Hand Texas Foundation, which in 2022 merged with and became the Charles Butt Foundation.

Charles Butt Scholars and Charles Butt Scholar alumni from across Texas gathered together for three days of community, keynotes, and breakout sessions.

The 2021 Virtual Charles Butt Scholar Symposium featured knowledgeable and passionate keynote speakers, engaging professional development opportunities, and fun community-building activities!

This year’s symposium theme, This is Where We Shine, offered a message to current and future teachers of daring leadership, leaning into the uncertainty and the vulnerability, and bringing light to students, their communities, and themselves. We know this has been a difficult year for many, and hope the Symposium served as an uplifting and inspiring experience.

Scholars, did you miss this year’s Symposium? Or was there a session you missed? Many sessions were recorded and are available here. Use the same code you were sent to access the Symposium app or email raisingtexasteachers@ryht.org with your first and last name to get it.
