University of the Incarnate Word

The Dreeben School of Education at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) prepares future teachers to make a positive and meaningful impact in the classroom. Our program, nationally accredited by the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP), is designed to provide aspiring classroom teachers with a comprehensive foundation. Those certified to teach in grades K-6 will earn a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a reading minor and an optional special education minor. Guided by experienced faculty, teacher candidates receive personalized mentorship in a supportive academic environment. The Teacher Education program at UIW stands as a recognized and accredited path to excellence in teacher preparation.
